The Ghost of Canada Reads' Future?

I just got back from a White Stripes concert, I'm wiping blood away from my eardrums, but I'm still basking in the amazing show that was. Therefore I'll keep this short...

Thanks to Patricia Storms at BookLust for her recent post about my (now defunct) Canada Reads dream. Check it out here.

Why is blogger saving all my posts as the wrong date? This was done on Thursday, well after midnight anyway. I need to check my time settings I guess.

Anyway, thanks Allison, pics are on the way to you.

I've been thinking about going to the White Stripes show when they play here in late September. I've heard they are fantastic in concert. Looks like there's one more thing we agree on!

Matt, DO SO! Amazing show- then again, because it was Iqaluit, it was a pretty intimate setting (only 600 people) and we were able to get right up front.

Sounds like a fun night, John...hope your hearing clears up soon. :-)

Honestly, I never paid much attention to the White Stripes until Jack produced and played and sang on Loretta Lynn's "Van Lear Rose" album. Loretta ended up winning a couple of Grammy awards as a result, and I'm grateful that Jack White was able to get her that kind of attention at this point in her long, long career.

Sam, I love the Van Lear Rose album. I'm hoping he'll get it in his head to do a Dolly Parton album too. The fact that they do a cover of Jolene indicates he's a fan. I think he could do for her career what Rick Rubin did for Johnny Cash. Well, maybe not that well, but I think they'd could work wonders together.

600 people - that's superb. The small venues are always the best. You know you've been to a show when you come home with some band sweat on you.

The show sold out in 10 minutes here in NS.

I can imagine the show was just amazing John, glad they wowed you! Patricia's post was great too.

Barbara, did you get the pictures?

Chris, are you going?

Dale, I can't say I was expecting any major rock concerts here, so the fact that we got one and it wasn't even Bon Jovi was even better!

Umm, well, I thought to myself, "Maybe I'll go." Too slow. I shouldn't have pondered it. Too bad to, it sounds like you had a great time.
