A Promo Post

What are you doing on October 20th? What to stay up really late? Dewey at The Hidden Side of a Leaf is hosting the 24 Hour Read-a-Thon, which promises to be a lot of sleep deprived fun. I'm working that day and have two young kids who might need to be fed at some point, so I'm opting out this time around. But I still may check out the progress from time to time as a cheerleader.

Also note that October's Bookworms Carnival is just around the corner. If you still haven't submitted something go to This Is The Life with your post link. Remember, the theme is: Thrills and Chills: Spooky Books that Keep You Up at Night.

Finally, the Canadian Book Challenge is off to a great start with 15 people (see sidebar) taking the polar bear plunge. There's still room for plenty more. There'll be prizes at the end and I've decided to try and offer more (maybe one a month) during the course of the challenge. You could also consider posting the Canadian Book meme (now with alphabetization!) on your blog.

John, great idea to make your list into a meme. I've had fun with it; it's now my possible reading list, with some additions of books I've read already and would recommend to others.

Melanie: The meme made me realize how badly I've neglected the Northwest Territories.

Change that to 17 people. Welcome newbies!

I'm sorry it is taking me so long to post about this challenge. I sort of made a pact with myself to keep new book purchases to a minimum and try and whittle down my TBR Mountain from my existing library. So I'm trying to decide on 13 books by Canadian authors that I already own. I don't have a final list but please add me to the participant list and I'll post soon about it.

Heather: No worrie. I might just be posting my selections as I read them as well. Often it will depend on what's on my bookshelf, what's available at the library, and so on. Glad to have you with us!
